How to Manually Upgrade or Downgrade Your Flashforge 3D Printer's Firmware!
Are you currently experiencing issues with your flashforge printer? Did these issues start after a new firmware version was installed? If you answered yes to both then fear not cause this is the blog you've been looking for.
Today I'm going to wallk you through how to manually upgrade or downgrade your Flashforge printers firmware.
Alright so the first thing we need to do is download the firmware version we want to install. Now you used to be able to do this directly from Flashforge's Download Center page on their website however these days its hardly updated and very outdated. So now we need to contact Flashforge's support team on support@flashforge.com and ask for the firmware files.
If you are currently experiencing issues on the 5M series printers then from my experience firmware versions 2.6.5 and 2.6.6 are stable and the ones to ask for.
Once you have received the file you need to extract it using an application like winzip or winrar and transfer the extracted files into the main directory of a blank USB.
In other words straight on the USB and not in a file.
We are then going to plug this USB into our Flashforge Printer and power it on. If all the steps have been followed correctly then your flashforge printer should start upgrading or downgrading its firmware.
Once the firmware has been installed, remove the USB, restart the printer and you're done.
